Sir Gordon Russell Furniture 

Sir Gordon Russell sideboards are the creme de la creme of British-made mid-century modern storage pieces.

However, he created some iconic designs that stretched beyond the superb sideboards that made him famous.

Post and during World war 2 like all furniture manufacturers Gordon Russell hade to submit there Designs to the ministry responsible furniture.These approved designs were the stamped with a CC to show they had been produced to the quality standards of that time.

Gordon Russell Sat as an advisor on the committee.

New furniture was rationed to newlyweds  and those bombed under the "Domestic Furniture (Control of Manufacture and Supply (No 2)) Order 1942" operative from 1 November 1942.

So our superb coffee table is stamped CC ,with the “two Cheeses Logo”and most importantly carries a Gordon Russell embossed stamp.

The table retains his maker's plaque on the underneath of the frame, which reads: 'Russell of Broadway'. Beside this stamped into the wood is a symbol and the number 418. The coffee table is constructed from solid oak. It has a circular top and tapering legs with finger joints at the top.

Quality meets post war restrictions.
