A very high quality oversized carved walnut and caned chair or love seat.

We believe it to be an Italian early C18th century piece.

The two seater love seat is in wonderful condition with some minor repairs to the detailed hand carved decoration which have been carefully refitted.

The stretchers from the underside are also full of detail and almost architectural in there look.

Strange to look at the underside but you will see the quality of this piece.

There is a strong Flemish look to the design and detailed carving of front decorative relief panels but we believe it’s Italian.

The graceful front legs culminate in superb lions claw feet which again give an indication of its age.

We have had the cane work re fitted so this piece is in great condition for its age but shows several age related “wrinkles”

The graceful arms on either side sweep down into lovely curled end which are very tactile.

A very sculptural chair which would grace any quality home.
