Cesar Manrique vintage Tile Panels
Cesar Manrique vintage Tile Panels
Cesar Manrique Design Vintage tile panel.
A pair of beautiful tile panels by the Spanish artist César Manrique (1919 - 1992) who lived and worked mostly on the wonderful island Lanzarote, Canary Islands.
There were designed between 1960 to 1969.
The three tiles form a fantasy mosaic fish on this decorative wall object.
Manrique created several fish in mosaic style on tiles and this one of the nine different species.
The tiles are mounted in a Mahogany frame.
The Manrique signature can be found on the right hand tile.
Each of these panels are totally stunning and of a glimpse into the mind of this prolific artist.
We understand that Manrique taught / worked alongside Picasso before Picasso was recognised as the visionary artist we all know.
You can see the Picasso influence in the design of these beautiful items
